Relief work for migrant workers during COVID-19

May - July 2020

The COVID-19 crisis caused multiple hardships to lakhs of migrant workers. In partnership with ‘NALSAR for Migrant Workers’, we facilitated the provision of 4000+ meals, 2000+ ration kits, 800+ health kits, including tarpaulin sheets and solar lamps, and travel for 750+ workers through buses, trains and flights. Support reached people all over India, including in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

Providing milk in the times of COVID-19

April - June 2020

No child should be deprived of milk because of COVID-19 or the resultant lockdown. We supported the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights to ensure every child stays nourished, even in the remotest parts of Delhi. Through this effort, more than 20,000 milk packets and 12,000 nutrition kits were distributed to children.

Our second Poshan Mela with the Delhi government featured an awareness session on balanced meals and live recipe demonstration, along with distribution of food and recipe booklets.

What does your healthy plate look like?

 

13-14 February 2020

We delivered an awareness session on balanced meals, after which students used their creativity to design their own healthy plates. Everyone in the school was served nutritious and delicious meals from our kitchen. Thanks to Inner Wheel Club Delhi New Friends District 301 for supporting and sponsoring this event.

FoodMasti - Healthy food awareness event for students

Students from Vidya School enjoyed games and activities on healthy and unhealthy foods, followed by a hearty meal including healthy ingredients like spinach, carrot and peas. 93% students gave our food a 5-star rating!

Poshan Mela in Delhi

From distributing nutritious powders, mouth-watering healthy food and recipe booklets, and spreading awareness on child nutrition through games, talks and materials, we did it all at Delhi government's Poshan Mela at Okhla, benefiting more than 350 people.

Free health camp for children

In our first health camp, in collaboration with Navya Tarang Foundation, we tested around 150 children for their BMI, vision and haemoglobin level. Children were also given deworming tablets for free.

Our first community kitchen is launched!

Our first community kitchen became operational in Nathupur village, Gurugram. Currently, it employs two women from the local community who prepare hot-cooked healthy meals for children.

Eating habits survey

July - August 2018

We conducted a survey for over 100 children in Nathupur village, Gurugram, to determine their current eating practices. We trained 15 senior students to help record survey responses and be our 'health champions'.

Our first awareness session with parents

8 July 2018

We interacted with the parents of students from R.K. Public School to engage with them on the health and nutrition status of their children. More than 100 people turned up even on a hot Sunday morning.
